Updated 18.1.2014 They do talk, don't they? The aliens. Well, perhaps not in the way we understand talk, but since communication is a forte with any intelligent beings, the aliens most likely do communicate. And of course since there is likely to be several races of them, there are probably many different ways to communicate.
Here follows some of the information concerning alien communication. This page does not deal with alien languages in science fiction, but with actual data derived by chance during space flights which seems to indicate alien element, and also with alien speech heard and/or recorded on Earth. This page will most probably be updated countless times!
REPETITION IS A PLUS
One would think that even an extraterrestrial language would have some amount of repeating of letters or characters. So that it something to look at if we find written language. Decoders and translaters may have lots of job opportunities in the future!
CROP CIRCLES
Besides being picturegraphs, there is also what seems text in some of the crop circles. Wouldn't it be fascinating to start deciphering all of the crop circles with anything that resembles text?! Much of the info there is of course mathematical.
THE LANGUAGE OF MATHEMATICS
Communication can be verbal, expressive (body and signs) or telepathical. But also mathetical, binary code type of thing. Crop circles exemplify this, and also the
Rendelsham Forest Incident which in 2010 took a new turn as James Penniston handed over his notes for a binary code expert.
Rendelsham Forest symbols & binary codes
There were symbols etched on the craft at Rendelsham Forest. As Sergeant Penniston put his hands on the symbols,
everything
became a brilliant bright white. He could neither see nor hear. Next, he received patterns of
ones and zeros into his mind. It was as though a movie of flashing
ones and zeros was running in his brain or minds eye. The
following day Penniston felt compelled to write them down in a notebook, and once having done that, the image in his mind disappeared. He put the notebook
away, and just forgot about it.
But in 2010, during a casual conversation with a
researcher, he mentions the codes and displays the notebook. The
researcher immediately recognizes the ones and zeros as binary code and
sets out to help Jim decipher it. This is what the symbols on the craft that landed on Rendelsham Forest in December 1980 appear to say, according to Gary Osborn:
EXPLORATION OF HUMANITY 666 8100
52.0942532N 13.131269W
CONTINUOUS FOR PLANETARY ADVAN???
FOURTH COODINATE CONTINU OT UQS CbPR BEFORE
The coordinates 52.0942532N 13.131269W point to a submerged mythical island of HY-Brasil off the west coast of Ireland. No matter what this all means, it is clear that a language is not just about letters - which is the norm in human languages - but can, and perhaps preferably, consist of strings of numbers instead. It should also be noted that James Penniston, while undergoing regression hypnosis, claimed that the craft he encountered had come from our future, and was occupied by time travellers, not extraterrestrials.
HOAXES
There are prankters in every field, and of course if you wanted to play mindgames with people, it would be a piece of cake to invent random characters with some sort of hierarchy, and then present them as an 'alien language'. But that sort of thing would better be employed by the movie industry, wouldn't you think?
AUDIO
What would an extraterrestrial language sound like? Would it - any of them - even be audible to human ear? We might not even understand that we are actually hearing a language! And of course, if communication is done with the use of telepathy, no audio is needed nor heard - or perhaps only as an auxiliary thing like with deaf humans employing sign language, but also uttering some of what is 'said'.
How a language sounds depends of course greatly on the physical characteristics of the speaker. The height and the shape of mouth and respiratory organs among other things.
There is an interesting
YouTube(3m35s) -video uploaded by user jostvandyke2007! Radio signals captured by NASA's Cassini. NASA's quote on the file: "A most intriguing file, we do not know what to make of it."
In the Dionisio Llanca abduction case in Argentina in 1973, Llanca said that he heard the three Nordic type beings he saw talk among themselves in a strange language that sounded like '
a badly tuned radio with chirps and buzzes".
There is also a case in Italy from 1954, with some minute detail: 40-year old Rosa Lotti witnesses a landed UFO with two 3-feet tall, and friendly, occupants outside the craft in Cennina, Italy. The beings were "vigorous, lively, and talking away as though they were Chinese. They kept saying: 'liu. lai,' 'loi,' 'lau. 'loi,' 'lai,' 'liu,' Their noses were of normal shape, their mouths just like a man's, but their upper lips were slightly curled in the centre, so that even when they were not laughing their teeth were still exposed. They were teeth like ours, broad, strong teeth, but short (as though they had been filed down) and somewhat protruding, like the teeth of rabbits". -
